Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
This policy explains what Wallpaper AI (the app and wallpaper.community) collects, why, who it's shared with, how long it's kept, and your choices. The service is run by [Operator's legal name], [Postal address] ("we"), the controller of your personal data. Questions: support@wallpaper.community.
What we collect
- Account: if you sign in, your sign-in method and the details it gives us. That's your email address, and with Apple or Google your name. Without signing in, the app uses an anonymous account id.
- Profile, which is public: username, display name, bio and profile photo.
- What you make: your prompts and changes, images you add (from Photos or a remixed post), the wallpapers made for you, and audio you record for dictation.
- What you post, which is public unless noted: wallpapers, titles, and prompts you choose to share. A prompt you don't share is kept privately with the post.
- Activity: likes (others can see who liked a post), remixes, reports and their reasons, blocks, hidden posts, and appeals with their notes.
- Viewing activity: the wallpapers you're shown, open, view full screen, save, share or copy a prompt from; how long you look at each one in the Full-Screen Feed; what you search for; and the categories you pick when you start. It's linked to your account, or to the anonymous account id if you haven't signed in.
- Safety records: moderation decisions, strikes and account standing.
- Device and app: a push notification token and app version if you allow notifications; app-integrity checks (Apple App Attest through Firebase App Check); crash and performance reports; and usage events such as the screens you open, onboarding steps, generations, paywalls you see and purchases you start, posts, likes, shares and reports. Usage events and crash reports are linked to your account id, or to the anonymous account id if you haven't signed in, and carry your plan and a rough credit balance (such as "100โ499").
- Purchases: if you subscribe or buy credits, your purchases and subscription status from Apple. We never see your payment details.
We don't collect precise location, contacts, or your advertising identifier (IDFA). We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use it
- To provide the service: making wallpapers, showing feeds, profiles and search, posting, likes, remixes, sharing, dictation and notifications. (Legal basis: performing our contract with you.)
- To personalize what you see: For You, Search and More like this are ranked for you from your viewing activity, likes, saves, remixes, hidden posts and starting picks. It isn't used for advertising. (Legal basis: performing our contract with you.)
- To keep the community safe: checking prompts, images, posts and profiles against our guidelines; handling reports, blocks and appeals; enforcing limits; preventing abuse and fraud. (Legal basis: our legitimate interests and legal obligations.)
- To understand and improve the app, with usage events and crash reports linked to your account id, so we can see how people use the app over time, which paywalls and plans work, and who a crash affected. It isn't used for advertising, and you can turn it off (see Your choices). (Legal basis: our legitimate interests.)
- To meet legal duties, such as reporting child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
We don't sell your personal data and don't use it for targeted advertising.
Automated content review
To keep the community safe, Wallpaper AI sends content to OpenAI for automated review. That includes:
- generation prompts and change requests, and reference photos;
- published wallpapers with their titles and shared prompts;
- display names, usernames, bios and profile photos;
- report reasons and appeal notes.
Email addresses and sign-in details are never sent. Requests carry only an anonymous identifier, not your account id. OpenAI does not use this content to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse.
The automated review can approve, reject or send content to a person. A rejection can lead to removal and a strike. You can appeal a removed post once from the app, and a person reviews appeals the automated check doesn't approve.
Who we share it with
- Other people see your public profile and posts, your likes on posts they view, and remix credits. Share links show your public posts and profile on the web.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract:
- Google (Firebase: sign-in, database, storage, server functions, App Check, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging and website hosting; and Google Sign-In);
- OpenAI (content review);
- OpenRouter, and the image and speech model providers it routes to (making wallpapers, transcribing dictation, and describing published wallpapers and search words so we can recommend similar ones; they receive the prompt, any reference image, the audio, or the published wallpaper with its title and shared prompt, not your account details);
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications, App Attest and purchases);
- Cloudflare (delivering wallpaper.community and support email);
- RevenueCat and Superwall (subscriptions; RevenueCat also passes renewals, cancellations and refunds to Firebase Analytics using the app's analytics id);
- Supabase (generation in app versions 1.2.x and earlier).
- Authorities, when the law requires it, such as reports of child sexual abuse material, or to protect people's safety.
- A buyer or successor of the service, under this policy.
How long we keep it
- Your account, profile, posts and likes: until you delete them or your account.
- Wallpapers made for you on our servers: 60 days. Drafts you keep are stored on your device.
- Removed posts: deleted 90 days after removal, unless an appeal is open.
- Moderation decisions: up to one year; decisions on approved prompts, 30 days.
- Content removed for child safety: preserved for one year, as the law requires, then deleted.
- Crash reports: 90 days. Usage events: up to 14 months.
- Viewing activity: 90 days. The summary of your tastes built from it is kept until you delete your account. Search words turned into recommendation data: 30 days, without your account id.
- Dictation audio is transcribed and not stored.
Deleting your account removes your profile, posts, likes, viewing activity and taste summary, stored images and device tokens, and gives the app a new analytics id. Usage events and crash reports already sent are deleted at the end of the periods listed above. Moderation decisions and child-safety evidence stay only for the periods listed above. Records of staff actions are kept as long as needed to secure the service or as the law requires.

Where it's stored
Data is stored and processed in the United States, by us and our providers. Where the law requires it, transfers use safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
